Day 40: well, now we're really a quarantine

A bit of a late start to the day. But that's okay. Doing Monday as my shopping day for the last month has left me disappointed with the stock available. Once, I went on a Tuesday, after Easter Monday holiday, and was surprised that the stocks I had been missing were now there! So, my friend and I have decided to try to change our market day to Tuesday. This will coincide with the re-opening of the town's Tuesday market, so this should be good for our pantries. That said, I had planned a big shop today, on a Saturday to see if it was much different, and it really was. Stuff in stock, not that many people. If I hadn't loaded my bag down with about 50 lbs of stuff, it would have been pleasant. I was buying soda, and then the only size flour and sugar they had were 5 kg bags, so... my bag was full and heavy, and that took up most of the afternoon.
I asked J to make some lemonade because we had some lemons that were nearing the end of their useful life. I'll make a detailed post on that recipe at some point.
I worked on the hangers for the bike lifts that I've been slowly working on to help clear the back work space. And I moved our germination set up out of it's tiny dark corner into a place where it at least get some sunlight.
Closed out the evening with more planning and measuring for the solar dehydrator project and blogging.

La journée commence un peu tard. Mais c'est pas grave.Le fait de faire mes courses le lundi depuis un mois m'a laissé déçu par le stock disponible. Une fois, je suis allé un mardi, après le congé du lundi de Pâques, et j'ai été surpris de voir que les stocks qui me manquaient étaient maintenant là ! Mon ami et moi avons donc décidé d'essayer de changer notre jour de marché pour le mardi. Cela coïncidera avec la réouverture du marché du mardi de la ville, ce qui devrait être bon pour notre garde-manger. Cela dit, j'avais prévu de faire des cours aujourd'hui, un samedi, pour voir si c'était bien différent, et ça l'était vraiment. Des produits en stock, pas tant de monde que ça. Si je n'avais pas chargé mon sac avec environ 25kg de marchandises, cela aurait été agréable. J'achetais du soda, et puis la seule taille de farine et de sucre qu'ils avaient était des sacs de 5 kg, donc... mon sac était plein et lourd, et cela a pris une grande partie de l'après-midi.
J'ai demandé à J de faire de la limonade parce que nous avions des citrons qui étaient en fin de vie. Je ferai un article détaillé sur cette recette plus tard.
J'ai travaillé sur les cintres des porte-vélos que j'ai lentement mis au point pour aider à dégager l'espace de travail à l'arrière. Et j'ai déplacé notre installation de germination de son petit coin sombre vers un endroit où elle reçoit au moins un peu de lumière.
J'ai terminé la soirée en planifiant et mesurant davantage le projet de déshydrateur solaire et en bloguant.
