Day 41: first foraging experiment

She had to share the sun with the laundry today.

Started the day earlier today than yesterday, and got the chores for the day out of the way: watering the garden, laundry, dishes, etc. Then it was out to walk the dog and collect some mint and garlic mustard. I made a frittata with tomatoes, the collected garlic mustard, and some of the wild chives. Yum. The mint is drying so that it can be a part of some mint extract we're working on.

Fed Audrey, and lay in the sun for a bit with the dog. I had to make a late afternoon sun laying spot for her, since the laundry stole her spot. I mixed up the dough to make more crackers, and hit a virtual happy hour with some friends back in the US.

Kept working on assembling the bike lifts and other storage solutions for the back workspace. I scaled down a 4.5 L elderflower champagne recipe to the 0.25 L bottle I have, and set that to sit overnight.

La journée a commencé plus tôt aujourd'hui qu'hier, et a permis d'alléger les tâches de la journée : arrosage du jardin, lessive, vaisselle, etc. Puis il est sorti pour promener le chien et ramasser de la menthe et de la moutarde à l'ail. J'ai fait une frittata avec des tomates, la moutarde à l'ail ramassée et un peu de ciboulette sauvage. Miam. La menthe est en train de sécher pour qu'elle puisse faire partie d'un extrait de menthe sur lequel nous travaillons.

J'ai nourri Audrey, et je me suis allongé au soleil un peu avec le chien. J'ai dû lui faire une place au soleil en fin d'après-midi, car le linge lui a volé sa place. J'ai mélangé la pâte pour faire plus de crackers, et j'ai passé un happy hour virtuel avec des amis aux États-Unis.

J'ai continué à travailler à l'assemblage des élévateurs à vélo et à d'autres solutions de rangement pour l'espace de travail arrière. J'ai réduit une recette de champagne à la fleur de sureau de 4,5 litres à la bouteille de 0,25 litre que j'ai, et je l'ai réglée pour passer la nuit.
